The 3M™ 8000 series Particulate Respirators provide eff ective respiratory protection for use in industries where workers will be exposed to dust particles and/or nonvolatile liquid particles.
Features and Benefits
• 3M™ Particulate Respirator 8822 - P2, valved • Convex shape, with galvanised steel nose clip and twin strap design • Durable, collapse resistant inner shell • Reliable, eff ective protection against fine particles • 3M™ Advanced Electret Filter Material gives eff ective fi ltration with low breathing resistance for consistent high quality performance • 3M™ Cool Flow™ exhalation valve off ers improved comfort in hot humid environments • For mechanically and thermally generated particles and fumes, e.g., grinding, sanding, crushing, sawing, smoke and welding
le respirator masks are used when there may be harmful particulates in the atmosphere such as dust. They protect the wearer by filtering air before it can be breathed in through the nose and mouth. The protective equipment can be used with differently rated filters depending on the challenges of the environment. Disposable face masks are a common and effective solution to respiratory protection suitable for a variety of tasks, such as;
• Carpentry and construction • Decorating and DIY • Laboratory and manufacturing
How long does a disposable respirator last?
These respirators generally will last about 8 hours or when it becomes too difficult to breathe and are disposable when they no longer offer full protection
What is the difference between FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 protection?
As part of the EN149:2001 standard it has designated into three ratings. FFP3 offers the highest protection compared to FFP2 and FFP1.
This protects against low levels of dust, as well as solid and liquid aerosols. They filter at least 80% of the particles, with a maximum leakage amount of 25%. Used within the construction or food processing industry.
This protects against moderate levels of dust, as well as solid and liquid aerosols. They provide higher protection than the FFP1. They filter at least 94% of the particles, with a maximum leakage amount of 11%. Used within the metal, medical and mining also the construction industry for plastering and sanding tasks.
This protects against high levels of dust, as well as solid and liquid aerosols. They provide higher protection than the FFP1. They filter at least 99% of the particles, with a maximum leakage amount of 5%. Used within the medical and chemistry industry.
